I figured decade old tech needed a decade old joke. Also, still the best way to put 100+ gb of mp3s into your pocket.

You're living in the past. I plan on buying a Galaxy Note II and retrofitting it in my car's pop-up navigation slot. (Not my car, I have a JDM storage cubby....its something)

Android on the go. AAWWW YEEAAAHHH.

I access my music library via my phone. I guess the only problem would be poor coverage areas.

I had an ipad, I didn't like the touch only experience, and paying for data just to get navigation. so I felt the ipod classic with its old school actual buttons and my phone for nav/data was a good solution.

nothing will be permanently mounted so I can always upgrade later :)

Also, the mp3s are not in your pocket.

Sorry, but I'm on the "F-Apple" boat. A Galaxy Note can fit into the slot (original is a 7" screen), so it can be retracted into the dash. I already have an android play kit that I can control with my stereo's buttons ( www.gromaudio.com )

I could also root it and install Google Now launcher to navigate via my voice.

Aftermarket head units are such piles of ass. I've been struggling to find the right head unit for my WRX with the right features for me. Really, all I need is something to mirror my damn phone. All the software in these things is atrocious. And they're ridiculously priced. $1200 6" screens when my iPad cost me $500? Get fucked.

Yeah, then just tether to your phone so when you get in the car it has internet through a single data plan.

That's what I'm planning for my 240Z at some point. I have an old eee pad sitting around that I'm going to made a nice fiberglass enclosure for to replace my header and radio section, then rework the controls for the heater to always be set to defroster and only have the fan control knob available where the cigarette lighter use to be.
